Looks like Microsoft is about ready to release the details on the Zune. Seattle Weekly reports that on Thursday, Sept. 14, Microsoft plans to "show the press the Redmond company’s answer to Apple’s fantastically popular iPod". We’ll be sure to post details once we know more.

The article is from an obvious fan of the company and they pump up J. Allard and his success with Xbox. Allard slips in a great one when he says he thinks of iPod as "the Pong of digital music," referring to the popular video game from the ’70s. iPod as the Pong of digital music is a smack in the face to iTunes. We’ll see if Zune can back that up.
