Xbox sales not as strong as Wii
Xbox sales over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend shopping bonanza we’re strong but no where near strong enough to stop the Wii with over 2 million units sold in comparison to the 836K sold by Microsoft. That’s a big deal and a lot of units for Nintendo. It appears the Wii has much greater success at the mass market then Xbox has recently.
I think Xbox is seen more as a hardcore gamers console with more traditional players choosing the advanced features and ecosystem but the Wii is much more fun for more a more diverse group of people. I saw the commercial for the Personal Trainer software on the Nintendo DS and it was cool watching Phoebe from Friends making Kung Pao chicken with her young friend.
I ws so wishing that my Zune would do things like that. The audio commands and tutorial style audio books are simply wicked and can be used for so many things. What a great educational device that can become with proper software development. Maybe Microsoft should buy Nintendo next?

In fact, Nintendo’s red-hot Wii system outsold the Xbox by almost 3-to-1 in November. Wii shipments in the month totaled 2.04 million, while Xbox shipments came in at 836,000. Sony (NYSE: SNE)’s PlayStation 3 ranked a distant third, with shipments of just 378,000 units, said NPD.
