Microsoft unveils holiday sales items including Zune HD

October 14th, 2009 by Alfred @ Zune MAX

Microsoft has unveiled their holiday sales items with the Zune HD the only device sold under the Zune brand. I was hopeful we would get a Zune phone this year but it looks like we’ll never see an actual Zunephone. Instead we can count on Windows phones featuring the Mobile 6.5 OS and possibly the Zune music services integrated into the phones but certainly not a Zune branded phone.

Zune software is possibly being ported over to the Mac operating system and the much dreamed about scenario of Zune on a Mac may come true soon enough. It all seems a little too late for the Zune name when you consider all of these are ideas pushed around over 2 years ago when the line was introduced. Sadly Zune has suffered under the mismanagement of Microsoft and I doubt anything short of a miracle can save it.

Microsoft’s 2009 Holiday Sales Relying on Xbox, Windows 7, Beatles, Facebook

Microsoft showed off many of the products it intends to push during the upcoming holiday season, including the Xbox 360 game “The Beatles: Rock Band” and smartphones equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, during a massive “Open House” in New York City on Oct. 6. Microsoft also intends to heavily promote the Zune HD, its handheld media player, and a variety of hardware ranging from a high-powered mouse to high-definition cameras for video chat.
