Could Obama save the Zune?
Someone at Fool.com wonders if Obama can save the Zune. With positive Zune reviews like the one from Cnet I’m not sure Zune needs to be saved but it could certainly use all the help it gets.
To answer the question honestly I don’t know if Obama could save Zune but he has certainly generated some interest in Zune over the past two days and once again the Zune team are silent. No big announcements or offers for a free Zune to the Obama family. This could very easily be made into a nice linkbait campaign with a cool viral video from the Microsoft crew. Instead we get silence. That’s pretty much been the message from these guys from the beginning.
If it we’re played properly then yes having the Obama family using Zune players just might be what Zune needs to make it into the mainstream. If Microsoft was smart they would have a selection of Zune players delivered to the White House for inauguration gifts. They should come with a one year free Zune pass and the family could post their Zune cards for the whole world to follow on their playlist.
How cool would that be? Cool enough to save the Zune I bet.
Check out my Zune Card in the forums!President-elect Barack Obama has his hands full these days. Curing the ailing economy is just one of the many challenges that await him in the White House. However, he can now cross “Save the Zune” off his list. All he had to do was to power one up while jogging on a treadmill next to a newspaper reporter earlier this week.
