The economy hasn’t improved as much as most of us would hope for and the time has come to buckle down on expenditures whenever possible. My wife has taken the lead with buying more of our household goods and consumables online. She has been surfing sites like Amazon and Ebay for the best deals online for commodities such as toys and games for the kids, clothing and even bulk groceries in an attempt to bring down the total cost of running our families.

As a nurse she is fairly used to making do with what you have and she is taking things she learned at work and using them to streamline the finances in our home. I heard about post holidays depression and weight gain when I gained a large amount of weight the winter my wife had our second child. I put on over 50 pounds in just a few short months and everyone asked me if I was feeling alright. I even looked into it myself because I considered that maybe I was not feeling well and I did not realize and my health was in jeopardy. I mean I was not huge but that type of weight gain is typically a sign of some medical condition unless explained otherwise.

I was eating more and moving around less. Working from home can often mean long hours sitting in a chair pecking away at the keyboard and weight gain and poor circulation are issues. I was wearing large mens clothing and actually enjoying the size for a short while until I realized how sluggish I had become. Want to know what I did? I bought a Zune and starting doing more physical activity both inside and outside the house. My weight bounced back and my large mens clothing went into storage. I call it my fat clothes and I save it for the next kid we have. I still like my Zune and I still spend as much time as I can outside but I’ve been working a lot and I can feel my pants squeezing me in the waist more so since the holiday feasting. I’m loading some new tunes on the Zune to kick my mood in gear and motivate my body again before I have to dig out the box labeled “phat boy”. Whats on your playlist?

Set Fire to Failure hasn’t even graduated from high school yet, and they’ve scored it all in only eight months.

Guitarists Zack Schwartz, 16, and Antonio Siquiera, 17, bassist JP Casanova, 16, and drummer Andres Ortiz, 15, all share vocal duties, along with a seemingly endless supply of energy.

Their music is most closely associated with screamo, heavy hard-core guitars and screaming, angry vocals alternated with more pop-punk influences, like blink 182 or NOFX. Some of their favorite bands include ska band Big D and the Kids Table, Alexisonfire, Every Time I Die and punk rockers Green Day and Anti-Flag.

In Retrospect clothing, a friend of the band, sponsors them. In exchange for sporting the logo at shows, the company is helping the band set up a tour.

Set Fire to Failure has had thousands of plays of its songs on MySpace. The demo includes Livejournal Ruined Me and Rhetoric Won’t Save.

Zune US Trademark Application filed

Microsoft has revealed quite a bit more about the potential plans for the Zune family of devices and services. The US Trademark application Serial Number 78953571 has been posted at USPTO website. The site requires you create a new session in order to do a search so click the Search button on the right hand navigation to get started. You will find multiple applications for trademarks under Zune but the top result should be Serial Number 78953571 which is from Microsoft. The rest seem to be others trying to gain from the previous lack of application by Microsoft. We’re pretty sure those will soon be dead much like the one for Zune.us is now.

The newest news here seems to be the application for the gaming device as listed in US 022 023 038 050 where they claim among other things use namely as "pinball and arcade game machines; hand-held units for playing electronic games". Sounds like confirmation of a Zune gaming device sometime in the future to us. That’s great news as we are very excited about the potential for the portable game player. We’re still unsure why they would abandon the Xbox name for a hand held gaming device so it’s probably just to cover themselves but we can always hope. We would rather see a Zune game player than an Xboy or XboxGo anyday.
