This new album is title Family Time and it features Ziggy along with friends and family including his son Judah and others such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Willie Nelson and Paul Simon in an inspirational compilation for everyone to enjoy. Ziggy has truly grown into his own and this album reflects a maturity in his music that I do not think we have experienced before. His early songs sounded more childlike than these and they include children singing in them. I’ll leave it up to you to decide but it’s well worth the price of a download to check out the new Ziggy Marley album with his son Judah.

Job searches used to be more about grabbing your local paper or asking a friend but the internet has changed all of that in the last few years and job searching online is more confusing than it should be. Major job search engines like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com have been overwhelmed with new job seekers and the colume of resumes you get when you put a job on these sites is just plain ridiculous. We had an ad for a secretarial position that received over 1000 applicants in just the first 2 weeks.

How can you expect to find a job with that much competition? You just can’t and people have begun to get creative in their job searching. Localized search engines are gaining popularity where as an example you can find Philadelphia Jobs by searching a job search engine that is tailored to your geographical area. If you were living in this area and needed to find a job in Philadelphia then your search should target your desired location specifically.

I think if we had an environmental impact tax on items like batteries and other dangerous materials you would find a lot more green equipment being developed. I do not think I would call a Zune eco friendly unless it were properly recycled in the end of it’s life but I can certainly see the article writers point as to the number of plastic disks saved by harddrive players.

Saving the World, One Zune at a time… - Thomas Jowers — Seeking Alpha

Did you know that buying and using a Zune is saving the world? (not just the Zune, but an Ipod, or any other MP3 player)

My Zune 80 holds 177 albums as of right now. If I had to buy all of those albums think of all the packaging waste that would come with those.

cdrecyclingcenter.com says that MILLIONS of plastic CD’s are thrown away every year!

Don’t get me wrong, millions if not billions of CD’s are ‘reused’ by the used CD market, you only have to visit ebay to see the huge amount of numbers of music and other types of CDs being reused. That is Great, but eventually they will end up in the trash.

On the other had, not many Zunes end up in the trash, you can still sell a broken Zune for a good amount, I sold a broken iphone for $200 that I washed in the washing machine (long story)

If i washed a CD would anyone pay me $1 for it? I think not.

Just think about, save some packaging, buy a Zune instead of a CD

Not that keen on downloading and test driving the Beta of Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit 4.0 Beta for free? Well, Microsoft has upped the stakes, and is offering an incentive for testers that are willing to test the latest development milestone of MAP 4.0 and provide feedback. Essentially, the Redmond-based company is ready to reward the best filed bug for the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit 4.0 with a Zune digital media player. A single Zune 120GB music player will be offered to the Beta participant that will submit the top bug on the way to RTM of MAP, Microsoft explained.

“The criteria are simple. At the end of the Beta Program, the development team will select the most impactful code-specific bugs for the RTM release. The filer of this bug will be the winner,” revealed Baldwin Ng, Microsoft Sr. Product Manager, Microsoft Solution Accelerators. “Note: It is the quality of the bug on our software code that counts and not the number of bugs that you filed. We welcome you to file bugs on typos and grammatical errors; however, these bugs will not be accepted for this contest.”

Real’s new RealPlayer SP software, currently in beta, adds functionality to rip YouTube and other streaming videos from the Internet and get them onto whatever handheld you choose. It works well enough, but it’s also crammed full of unnecessary features.

RealPlayer SP is the evolution of the long-running RealPlayer software, which has become a multi-limbed beast of a program: It’s a media manager and player, along with a packaged web browser, a subscription and a la carte music store (Rhapsody), a gaming store (Real Arcade), an audio recorder, and now a streaming video ripper/converter with ties-in to social networking sites. It is at the moment Windows only, though we’re assured a Mac version is forthcoming. The beta comes in two versions: One is free, and the other costs $40 and includes H.264 conversion, DVD playback and DVD burning.

The SP stands for Social/Portable, so you can get a hint of where they’re going with all this. In addition to RealPlayer itself, the software integrates a button to rip video into your browser (Firefox, Chrome, and IE are supported, Opera is not, no word yet on Safari). This new addition includes a converter to pretty much every portable video format you could imagine, from BlackBerry to Symbian to iPod to Zune.

Where RealPlayer SP is convenient is in this video conversion, especially if you’ve got a more niche phone or PMP (and I certainly do). Normally, conversion to Zune-supported video is kind of a pain in the ass, but RealPlayer SP handles it easily and well. For newer devices like the Palm Pre and BlackBerry Bold, RealPlayer SP can pass the converted video right through to the player, while it’s able to go through iTunes to get video onto an iPhone or iPod touch. Older or less common devices, like my BlackBerry Curve 83xx and my Zune, are still supported, but you’ll have to copy the new video files over manually.

Press Release: Review from the online site “A Prospering City” based outta Oregon… Catfight! - 3 song demo May 1st, 2007 There is this band from around here called Catfight! Ever heard of them? No me neither& but I’m sure everyone will soon. The band is just infectious. I mean, they have all the right hooks to sing along to, the gritty White Stripes-y guitar, and their tracks are produced so damn well. I am totally surprised these guys (and gals) aren’t playing way bigger shows. Wait& they opened for Bloodhound Gang and Goldfinger& what?? The band sent me a sampler of three songs from one of their albums and they seem to just breeze by meriting a few repeats. There is an obvious influence of Dandy Warhols and White Stripes, but they are different in a way. For one, their harmonies are tight and the production is much cleaner, really making the music approachable. They have that guy/girl vocal thing going and it works well. The names of the songs were not included with the CD and my pop-up internet song finder thing says Elvis Presley, but the third song on the disc has the lyrics “My candy cane”. That song is probably the best of the three, featuring a synth line beneath subdued vocals, and then exploding with the candy sweet chorus. It really reminds me of those Warhol guys. The second track has a killer guitar harmony and the singer shouts “Getting ready for the weekend, getting ready for the summer, getting ready for the show,” which I imagine people will probably do when the band finally breaks. I mentioned it before, but the production of the disc is absolutely great. They enrolled Jason Robbins (Lenny Kravitz, Ben Harper) as engineer, so I guess that will explain it. Everything sounds so clear while maintaining the dirty sound they are going for. The vocals especially benefit from this. I’m going to go out on a limb and give these guys less than a year before they make it big-time (in Portland standards). They’ve got something super great.

Packages change every day and it may be time for you to expand your webhosting by upgrading to a more powerful package or you may need to consider dedicated webhosting where you can get your own server and really power up those website projects of yours.

We upgraded to a webserver after our shared webhosting package was hacked and we lost just about our entire website including members in our forum and all of their personal settings. In the end we never fully recovered and the zune forums are suffering from lack on involvement. Don’t let your website get hacked or lose valuable data, make sure you have reliable webhosting and a decent backup program in place to secure your data and insure the success of your website projects.

Mavado is a member of the Bounty Killer Alliance and “The Warlord” has had his fight with Vybz who was a beat maker for Killa over a number of hit songs. Mavado has been crowned the new King of Dancehall by some and the self proclaimed King himself Beenie Man has weighed in to say that his status as number one seller from the 90’s until recent years keeps him as the top man to beat still.

The battle should hit it’speak this at Reggae SumFest this year where all parties involved are scheduled to appear on stage on the same day. Microsoft wants you to touch it - the Zune HD, that is

With a 3.3 inch touchscreen and 16:9 OLED display, Microsoft is taking aim at the iPod Touch market with the upcoming Zune HD. Fans of the Zune media player will still find the features they’re used to along with some new additions that should make this a welcome upgrade.

Tomorrow at 12:01 AM PST, Microsoft will be taking down the whole Zune service, which includes the Zune Social, the forums on Zune.net, and the Zune Marketplace. At the same time, Xbox Live will also be offline, meaning the My Xbox section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only-mode. Microsoft says that the downtime is scheduled maintenance and that it should not last longer than 24 hours. The software giant also notes that once service is restored, there will not be any new features for Zune users, unlike the update from last week, nor for Xbox users. Instead, the services are being taken down to prepare for a future update.

For a long time we’ve been hearing from both people inside and outside of Microsoft that the Zune and Xbox systems should be moved closer together, and Microsoft is finally (very slowly) beginning to work on this. As we covered earlier this month, Microsoft is updating Xbox Live later this year. One of the new additions is Zune Video, which will feature 1080p content that you don’t have to load (sounds like Silverlight 3’s smooth streaming to me).

The downtime tomorrow is in preparation for some type of Zune-Xbox integration, but it’s not completely clear at what level such an integration will occur. However, the fact that Microsoft has decided to take down both is promising. What would you like to see?

If you haven’t heard of Microsoft and you’re reading this, then you need jump into your time machine and warp ahead. If you haven’t heard of the Zune, then you’re a part of a significant number of Ugandans who’d care less about the latest gizmo on the market.

Well the Zune is a portable media player from Microsoft that was meant to take on apple’s mighty iPod. The release of Apple’s iPod touch sent Gates’ boys right back to the drawing board. Just a little information on the iPod touch. It’s just like the iPhone but with no phone. This product was launched on September 5, 2007 and added the multi-touch graphical user interface to the iPod line.

It comes in eight, 16, or 32 GB of flash memory. Looks like the hard work’s finally paying off with Microsoft aka M$ (as I’d prefer typing it), just announced their latest addition to the Zune line-up. It’s clearly going to go head-to-head with the iPod touch, featuring multitouch and a web browser, but will its high-end media features be enough to dethrone the touch?

The flash-based Zune HD features a new industrial look compared to the line’s earlier understated matte style, and is the first to feature a touch screen. In this case, it’s a 3.3” screen that is a capacitive Oled (Organic Light Emitting Diode) with multitouch, packing a resolution of 480×272. Key word in all that, Oled.
