Should you buy beds online?

I think I need a new bed. Mine is driving me nutz. I know its the wrong time of year financially but I been looking at beds online. My back is a wreck and my neck has been bothering me for awhile now. I thought about the beds I have had in the past and come to realize most of them have been wrong for me.
I don’t know much about shopping for beds but I do think its better to at least try a few out locally before you buy your bed online and get the wrong bed again. I would imagine that you have to try a few beds before you know exactly which make and model you want to purchase at a discount online. I see some companies offering free shipping on beds but seems kinda expensive to me.
Anyone shop for something as big as beds on the web before?
